What is the impact of receiving a negative decision on an asylum claim? NACCOM are a UK wide network providing accommodation, support, and campaigning to end destitution amongst people seeking asylum, refugees and other migrants. In July 2023 NACCOM published a report on the experiences of people who have been refused asylum. They approached me to work with their community researchers to create illustrations to be used throughout the report, depicting common situations that asylum seekers and refugees face while trying to navigate the UK Government’s “hostile environment”
